Granting Interests

The Foundation’s granting interests are guided by the vision and ambition of its founders. The Foundation supports a range of charitable work: arts and culture, education, the environment, health, and humanitarian efforts.

Granting Process

The Foundation’s application process is by invitation only. The Foundation proactively reaches out to organizations to submit proposals based on current funding interests. Unfortunately, we are not able to respond to unsolicited proposals.

Weston International Award

Launched in 2023, The Weston International Award annually honours the career achievement of an international author whose body of nonfiction work has advanced our understanding of the world.

Since 2011, The Hilary Weston Writers’ Trust Prize for Nonfiction has annually recognized a Canadian writer for excellence in literary nonfiction, which includes essays, history, biography, memoir, commentary, and criticism.
